Editorial Policy

Last reviewed:

Prosperics publishes financial calculators and educational guides for people in the United States and Canada. Because our topics involve taxes, debt, and retirement — decisions with real consequences — this page explains exactly how our content is produced, checked, and corrected.

Who writes and reviews our content

Prosperics Editorial Board · DIGITI LLC. Prosperics is published by DIGITI LLC, a California company. Calculators and guides are written and maintained by the Prosperics editorial board. Figures are checked against primary sources — IRS, CRA, SSA, and central bank publications — and each page shows the date it was last reviewed.

We attribute every guide to the Prosperics editorial board. As the site grows we plan to add independent credentialed reviewers (CPA, CFP, or equivalent) for tax- and retirement-sensitive pages; when a page has been externally reviewed, the reviewer will be named on that page.

How we check our numbers

Every tax bracket, contribution limit, benefit threshold, and program rule in our calculators and guides is checked against primary government sources before publication, including:

  • Internal Revenue Service (IRS) — US federal tax brackets, deductions, and retirement plan limits
  • Social Security Administration (SSA) — FICA wage bases and benefit rules
  • Federal Student Aid (studentaid.gov) — student loan repayment plans, including RAP and IBR
  • Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) — Canadian tax rates, RRSP/TFSA/FHSA rules, and benefit programs
  • Employment and Social Development Canada — CPP, OAS, and EI figures
  • Bank of Canada and the US Federal Reserve — rate and inflation data

Each guide lists its primary sources at the bottom of the page, and calculator pages display the date their content was last fact-checked.

Update cadence

Tax figures change every year. We run a full review of all tax-year-sensitive content when the IRS and CRA publish their annual inflation adjustments (typically October–December), and again when major legislation changes program rules mid-year. The “Last reviewed” date on each page reflects the most recent editorial fact-check of that page, not an automated timestamp.

Corrections

If we discover an error — or you report one — we correct the page as soon as possible and update its “Last reviewed” date. Material errors in calculator logic are treated as bugs and fixed with priority. To report an error, use the feedback form and include the page URL and the figure you believe is wrong.

What our content is (and is not)

Prosperics content is educational. Our calculators produce estimates based on the inputs you provide and published government formulas — they are not financial, tax, investment, or legal advice, and they are not a substitute for a licensed professional who knows your full situation. We explain assumptions and their limitations on each calculator page. See our full disclosure for details on how the site is funded.

Independence and monetization

The site is funded by advertising and optional premium subscriptions. Advertisers have no influence over calculator logic, editorial content, or the figures we publish. We do not accept payment for coverage or rankings.
